Sylvinia Mae Green Corder

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvinia Mae Green Corder, affectionately known as Mae, who left us on August 11, 2026, at the age of 89. Mae was born on June 19, 1937, in Camp Ground, Kentucky, to her loving parents the Matthew and Bessie Childers Shepherd, who predeceased her. Mae's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She was a devoted wife, first to Frank Green until his passing in 1991, and later to Jack Corder, who also predeceased her. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Mae was a nurturing mother to her daughters, Patricia Ferguson and Pamela Worsham, and cherished the memory of her eldest daughter, Penny Mauldin, who passed away in 2009. Her family was the light of her life, and she was blessed with six grandchildren: Jeremy Mauldin, Ryan Mauldin, Frankie Worsham, Franchesca Moore, Jason Ferguson, and Jessica Ferguson. Mae's legacy continues through her 15 great-grandchildren and her stepchildren Kevin Corder and Sherry Runner. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Johnny Shepherd, and countless friends who were touched by her kindness. Mae's heart was vast, and her compassion knew no bounds. She was known for her love of Jesus and her boundless energy, always ready to lend a helping hand. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a caregiver both professionally and for her family, including her daughter Penny. Mae's nurturing spirit extended to her love for animals, especially her dogs, who brought her joy and companionship. A proud member of Father Son and Spirit Ministries church in Seneca, SC, Mae was deeply committed to her faith and supported missions both at home and abroad. Her devotion to her beliefs was an inspiration to all who knew her. Mae's presence was felt not only in person but also online, as she joyfully connected with friends and family through Facebook, sharing her warmth and love with everyone. The family of Mae Green Corder will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home Friday, August 14th from 5 to 7 p.m. and a funeral service to celebrate Mae's life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at Pulaski Funeral Home, located at 165 KY-2227, Somerset, KY 42503. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Gideon Foundation in honor of Mae's memory, supporting causes close to her heart. Mae will be remembered always in our hearts, and we look forward to seeing her again in heaven. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to guide and inspire us all.
