Tana Sue Tarter

August 8, 1954 — November 26, 2020

Mrs. Tana Sue Tarter, of Nancy, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, November 26th, 2020.

She was born August 8, 1954 making her 66 years old.  While she passed from this physical life quickly, she never stopped showing the love and kindness that defined who she was.  She was one of the best cooks there was, she enjoyed sewing and reading and had a knack for crossword puzzles.  She owned and worked at Video Palace, which continues to thrive as the only video store around because of the woman she was and the kindheartedness that she showed everyone she encountered.

She was the daughter of the late Clifton James and Phyllis Gibson, who preceded her in death.  She married Mr. Billy Joe Tarter, on March 30, 1982.  She is now rejoicing with all the loved ones that preceded her in death, which include: her parents, Clifton James Gibson and Phyllis Latham Gibson and her brother, James David Gibson.  Those left to honor and cherish her memory include: her husband, Billy Tarter of Nancy, Ky., her son, Stephen Grundy, of Nancy, Ky., her daughter, Ashley Meeks (and Tyler Catron), of Somerset, Ky. And the following grandchildren: Seth Grundy, Weston Meeks, Sadie Jo Meeks, Bryce Catron and Cohen Catron, as well as one loving sister, Jenny Miller of Somerset, Ky.  There are a host of other relatives, special loved ones and friends that are going to miss her and cherish their loving memories of her.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude, first to the nurses of Hospice of Lake Cumberland for the love and care that was given to both her and her family during her stay, as well as to several EMTs from the Somerset Pulaski County EMS, who helped make it possible for her to be home for her final days.

There will not be any funeral services or memorial service held per her wishes.

The family appreciates all the love that has been shown by all who knew her.  The family asks that expressions of sympathy to take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or to Somerset Pulaski County EMS.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
