Vida Wallace

July 26, 1938 — August 9, 2025

Listen to Obituary

Vida Maxine Wilson Wallace, 87, entered into eternal rest on August 9, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.

Vida was born in Keno, Kentucky on July 26, 1938, to the late James Everett Wilson and the late Myrtle Smith Wilson Super.

She spent her working years as a dedicated bookkeeper for J. Herbert Lewis Oil Co., and later for Charles Auto Parts. When she stepped away from her work, she poured her time into the things she loved most.

She never missed the chance to cheer on the UK Wildcats during basketball season and was quick to root for just about anyone playing against the Cincinnati Reds during baseball season. Her television was often turned to a good western, with Gunsmoke taking 1st place.

"Granny", as she was lovingly known, had a gift for quilting, creating countless beautiful pieces stitched with love - treasures her family will cherish for generations. She was also a devoted reader, and no book was dearer to her then her Bible, which she read faithfully and often.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Mark & (Earlene) Wallace, and two daughters, Clara Begley and Michelle & (Tom Mullins); her grandchildren, Tonya Thomspn, Natasha Thompson & (Matt Roark), Heather & (Nelson) Curry, Meghan & (Austin) Trehern, Sarah Purtee & (Blake Smith), Cheyenne & (Spencer) Hampton, and Dakota Purtee. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Nicholas Blevins, Aaron Abbott, Isiah Thompson, Matthew Combs, Emma Curry, Wallace Curry, Bennett Trehern, and Vida Kate Hampton; her sister-in-law, Patsy Garner; and a host of extended family and friends who are deeply asaddened by her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dewey Super; her husband, Charles Wallace; an infant son, Charles Michael Wallace; her twin sister, Vivian Helton; an infant brother, Calvin Wilson; and several sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Dale Prather and Mark Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Sloans Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 11 AM Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Pulaski Funeral Home until time for services.
