Wilma Cook

Wilma Faye Cook, age 84, went to be with the Lord and her heavenly family on July 10, 2025. 

Born on March 8, 1941, to Namon and Edith Colyer Strunk, Wilma was a dedicated woman of God, praying until her last breath.

Wilma married the love of her life, Walter Cook, on August 3, 1957. They shared 59 years together before his passing.Wilma was a woman who embodied hard work and determination, qualities she instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, she worked at several places, including Lear-Siegler, Kingsford Charcoal, Midtown Nursing Home, and finally at Oakwood, where she retired at age 65. Everywhere she worked, she made lifelong friends.

Wilma is preceded in heaven by her parents, Namon and Edith Strunk; her husband, Walter Cook; her sons, William "Eddie" Cook and Harvey Cook; her daughter, Connie Hargis; and her siblings: Edna Harrison, Gladys Johnson, Charlotte Strunk, Betty Sue Dowell, Wayne Strunk, Benny Strunk, Marilyn "Cricket" Strunk, and Samuel Strunk.She leaves behind to cherish her memory and continue her legacy of happiness and love: her son, Troy (Reza) Cook; daughters, Pauletta Campbell and Jennifer (David) Perison; and her beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Denise, Jared, Travis, Shane, Latoya, Zack, Ashton, Takisha, Tabatha, and Tawney. Also surviving are her sister, Ruth Ann Nicholas; her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of brothers and sisters in faith.

The world will not be the same without Wilma Cook—daughter, sister, wife, mother, Mamaw, friend, and most importantly, Prayer Warrior. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home, with Bro. Kevin Upchurch and Bro. Rob Freeman officiating.

Burial will follow in Grave Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Pulaski Funeral Home.
