Bruce Phelps
Managing Partner & Co-Owner
Bruce Phelps has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over four decades, dedicating more than 36 years to the funeral profession. A lifelong resident of Pulaski County, Kentucky, Bruce has been a part of Pulaski Funeral Home since 1996. He became a managing partner in 2001 and remains an integral part of the organization, serving on the Board of Directors and continuing his steadfast commitment to families in their time of need.
In addition to his work at the funeral home, Bruce has devoted himself to public service in many roles. He is a past board member of Science Hill Nazarene Church and formerly served as Vice-Chairman of the Science Hill Board of Education for the Science Hill Independent School System. He is also an active member of the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and holds the honorary title of Kentucky Colonel. Bruce maintains membership in good standing with both the National Funeral Directors Association and the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association.
Bruce’s dedication to his community extended to serving as Deputy Coroner for Pulaski County under two administrations. Beyond his professional and civic commitments, Bruce enjoys fishing and the quiet reflection it brings.
Bruce has been married to Rhonda Hall Phelps since June 12, 1981. Together they have one son, Cole Phelps, who has carried forward the family’s tradition of service. Cole is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Louisville’s Master’s Program and earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of Pikeville. Today, Cole serves as an Emergency Room physician at Methodist Hospital in Union County, Kentucky. Cole’s wife, Katie, is also a physician, continuing the family’s legacy of caring for others. Bruce is a proud grandfather to three beloved grandchildren: Rhys, Ellis, and Sloane.
In 2004, Bruce faced significant health challenges, undergoing six coronary bypass surgeries. Reflecting on that time, he shares, “The experience has made me stronger in my faith and better at what I do. I feel it was God’s way of showing me how precious life is, and how quickly we can be called away. It has challenged me to make the most of my time here on earth by helping those in need.”
Bruce’s commitment to faith and service continues to inspire him daily: “I feel that I am at my best when I am helping others. I also try to share the hope and strength that my faith gives me when difficulties arise in my life and in the lives of others.”
Tyler Hibbard
Lead Funeral Director & Embalmer
Tyler Hibbard, son of the late Jerry and Brenda Hibbard, is a lifelong resident of Pulaski County who grew up in the Shopville community. With nearly two decades of experience in death care, Tyler has devoted his professional life to guiding families with compassion and care during their most difficult moments. Since joining Pulaski Funeral Home in May 2006, he has become the Lead Funeral Director, overseeing daily operations and ensuring that each family receives the highest level of service.
Tyler’s journey in funeral service began in November 2004 while he was still completing his senior year at Pulaski County High School, from which he graduated in 2005. Committed to learning and professional growth, Tyler earned an Associate of Arts degree from Somerset Community College before continuing his studies at Union Commonwealth University, where he received a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Psychology and Chemical Dependency, as well as a Master of Psychology. Further dedicating himself to his calling, he also obtained an Associate of Science in Funeral Service from Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.
Tyler is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Kentucky and also holds a Kentucky Life & Health Insurance license. His commitment to excellence is reflected in his membership in the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and his recognition as a Kentucky Colonel.
Outside of his work at the funeral home, Tyler finds great fulfillment in teaching as an adjunct professor of Psychology at Somerset Community College—a role that allows him to share his knowledge and passion for the field.
In his personal life, Tyler enjoys diving, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He shares his home with three cherished dogs—Phil, Silas, and Ruby Sue—who bring joy to his days.
With dedication, empathy, and nearly twenty years of experience, Tyler continues to serve each family with the respect and care they deserve.
Quintin McGinnis
Funeral Director & Embalmer
Quintin McGinnis has dedicated his life to serving the families of Pulaski County and the surrounding areas. A lifelong resident of Pulaski County, Quintin began his career in funeral service shortly after graduating from Pulaski County High School in 1983. He earned his degree from the Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana, graduating in 1987. That same year, he became a licensed funeral director and embalmer—credentials that have underpinned his professional commitment ever since.
Quintin joined Pulaski Funeral Home in 2001, where he continues to serve as President of the Board and as a member of the Board of Directors. He remains a full-time, active part of the funeral home staff, dedicating himself to ensuring that each family receives compassionate and professional care during life’s most difficult moments.
Beyond his work at Pulaski Funeral Home, Quintin has contributed to the profession at the state level, serving as President of the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association for 2008–2009 and completing over 200 hours of continuing education in advanced restoration procedures. He is a Kentucky Colonel, a member in good standing with both the National Funeral Directors Association and the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, and an active member of the Somerset Chamber of Commerce.
Quintin has two children, Quintin II and Ariel M. McGinnis. Open-minded and respectful toward all faiths, he considers it a privilege to help guide families through some of their most challenging moments.

Michelle Godbey
Funeral Director & Office Manager
Michelle Godbey is a licensed funeral director in Kentucky and a lifelong resident of Pulaski County. The daughter of the late Estil and Betty Godbey—who owned and operated City and Veterans Cab Company for many years—Michelle was raised in Somerset before making her home in Science Hill, where she has lived for the past 23 years.
A graduate of Saline Christian Academy, Michelle later attended the University of Kentucky. Before entering funeral service, she built a successful 25-year career as a retail manager, developing the dedication to service and attention to detail that now benefit the families she helps each day. In 2020, she brought this experience and compassion to the team at Pulaski Funeral Home
Outside of her professional role, Michelle enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and being active in the local community—reflecting her warm, approachable nature and commitment to those around her.
With every family she serves, Michelle offers a steady presence and genuine care, ensuring they feel supported and respected in their time of need.
Thomas Slagle
Funeral Director & Embalmer
Thomas is a licensed funeral director and embalmer who joined Pulaski Funeral Home in 2023. A native of Pulaski County, Thomas graduated from Southwestern High School in 2011 and has always had a passion for serving his community with care and respect.
After years of dedication, Thomas graduated as the salutatorian of his class at Mid-America College of Funeral Service, where he further strengthened his commitment to helping families through their most difficult times. Before entering funeral service, he also built a successful career as a Master Barber, licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky—a testament to his attention to detail and service-oriented nature.
Thomas is married to his high school sweetheart, Kasey, and together they have two children, Harrison “Harry” and Ellie, who are the heart of his life outside of work.
A dedicated member of the Morris & Hislope team, Thomas combines professionalism, compassion, and personal warmth, ensuring that every family he serves feels supported and cared for.
Pat Perry Haste
Bereavement Staff & Assistant Office Manager
Pat Haste was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and later raised in Waynesburg, Kentucky, by her loving grandparents, Nute and Mary Perry. Her grandfather, a respected barber in Waynesburg, helped shape the community she calls home. As a child, Pat was an active member of Double Springs Baptist Church and is now a member of Newell Christian Fellowship.
She was married for 49 years to Archie Haste, who passed away on January 22, 2012. Together, they raised three children—Junior, Lisa, and Kandie—and are proud grandparents to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pat enjoyed a successful career as a store manager at Walmart before retiring and joining our staff in June 2017. Her dedication and warm spirit have made her a valued member of the team.
Jim Brooks
Bereavement Staff
Jim Brooks is a lifelong resident of Pulaski County and has been a valued member of Pulaski Funeral Home since 2001. Before joining the funeral home, Jim served as the manager of Latham Trucking and later became a partner in Tri-B Trucking, demonstrating his strong leadership and business acumen.
A dedicated public servant, Jim held the positions of Judge and Mayor of the City of Burnside for several years. In recognition of his significant contributions to the community, the Burnside Fire Department was proudly named in his honor.
Jim is an active member of First Baptist Church in Somerset and a beloved father to Suzy Brooks Lawson and Robert Lawson, the current Mayor of Burnside, Kentucky. His lifelong commitment to family, faith, and community continues to inspire all who know him.
Marian Price
Bereavement Staff & Co-Owner
Marian Price has been a cherished member of Pulaski Funeral Home since 2001. Born to Evelyn Dunaway and the late C.M. Dunaway, Marian grew up in West Somerset and attended the local Somerset schools. She was fortunate to dedicate thirty-two years of her life to teaching within the community before retiring.
Marian was married to the late George “Tom” Price, a respected director and officer of Cumberland Security Bank. She is an active and engaged member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church and proudly participates in organizations such as Somerset Eastern Star, the Red Hatters, Alpha Delta Kappa—an honorary teachers’ sorority—and the Wildcat Investment Club.
Her passions include playing golf, bridge, and line dancing, pursuits that bring joy and balance to her life. Marian embraces the belief that our mission on earth is to help others, a principle she lives by daily through her compassionate work at Pulaski Funeral Home.
Ed Schoolcraft

Ed Schoolcraft is a retired United States Postal Service employee and former Independent Building Contractor. He is married to Karen Schoolcraft. His first wife, Barbara Meece Schoolcraft, passed away. Ed is the proud father of two children, Brad Schoolcraft and Tonya Venable, and he often speaks fondly of his beloved grandchildren.
Ed enjoys fishing, cherishing time spent with his family, and actively supporting his local church, Beacon Hill Baptist Church. His dedication extends to his role at the funeral home, where he finds fulfillment in assisting families during their times of need.

Bob Whitaker

Bob Whitaker has been a respected member of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home team for several years. A lifelong resident of Pulaski County and native of the Shopville community, Bob’s deep roots in the area enrich his dedication to serving local families.
He is married to Kathy Whitaker and is a proud father to his daughter and stepson. Bob’s unwavering commitment and dependable presence make him an invaluable asset to the firm, where he consistently exemplifies professionalism and compassionate care.
Mike Brock

Mike Brock is a lifelong resident of Nancy, Kentucky, in Pulaski County. After a dedicated career with Windstream, he retired and has since become a valued member of the Pulaski Funeral Home team for several years.
Mike loves helping the community and takes great pride in supporting families during their times of need. He can often be seen assisting with various tasks throughout the funeral home, bringing a dependable and compassionate presence to every role.
A devoted father, Mike cherishes his children and draws strength from his family’s support as he serves the community he calls home.

Lisa May
Secretary
Lisa May is a lifelong resident of Pulaski County, with deep roots in the Eubank community. She is married to Kenny May of Eubank, and together they have two children, Brooke and Brandon. Lisa is the daughter of Pat Perry Haste—also a valued member of our staff—and the late Archie Haste.
Professionally, Lisa serves full-time as a secretary to Judge Marcus Vanover in the Pulaski County Court System.
Lisa joined our team in 2016 and has played an integral role in supporting our funeral directors by managing the many details involved in serving each family. Often, when calling our office during evenings or weekends, you will have the opportunity to speak with Lisa. She also works diligently in coordinating visitations and producing the memorial DVDs we provide to families.
Always approachable and warm, Lisa is known for her constant smile and genuine willingness to assist families during some of life’s most difficult moments.
